CalCIMA Recognizes the Achievements of Several Individuals in the Aggregates Industry

The California Construction and Industrial Materials Association has honored four Californians who work in the aggregates, ready mixed concrete and industrial materials industry in the state.

CalCIMA gave out four member awards at its annual Member Recognition Awards to recognize recent and lifetime achievements in the industry.

“The awards honor members for outstanding initiatives and service to the industry,” CalCIMA president and CEO Gary Hambly said. “Each recipient has gone extra lengths to help the association achieve policy objectives for the betterment of the aggregate, ready mixed concrete, and industrial mineral industries.”

The following are the award recipients CalCIMA honored this year:

President’s Award: Mike Herges, manager of safety and health at Graniterock, and Terry Tyson, regional safety and health manager with Lehigh Hanson, for leadership of CalCIMA’s Safety and Health Committee and other safety-related achievements.

Spirit of the Industry Award: Bradley Johnson, attorney with Harrison Temblador, Hungerford and Johnson for his work on California’s surface mining law.

Benjamin J. Licari Distinguished Member Award: Charlie Wensley, president of Builders Concrete/Viking Ready Mix, for a lifetime of service to the industry.

Associate Member Award: Scott Cohen, project manager with Sespe Consulting, for his work with CalCIMA’s Environment and Natural Resources and Safety and Health Committees on several issues.
